Newborns
Newborn sessions take up to 4 hours. Most of that time is feedings and getting them to a nice deep sleep.
I keep my studio very warm. So I suggest mom wearing light layers so if you get hot you can take a layer offer.
Newborns are best to photograph between 5-10 days old. No older than 12 days.
I like to start newborn sessions around 10am or 11am
- nude is best for newborns. I do have some diaper covers if needed.
- hat & headbands ( I supply these but if you have something special please bring it)
- Mom & Dad wear a simple plain black shirt.
Families and Children
Family sessions are an hour – two hours. Make sure to plan on a break or two if you have small children. Bring a snack or bribe for them as an insensitive.
I like to keep family sessions relaxed. I Love capturing the unposed moments & Interaction shots. So I may step back and just let your family be you with a few suggestions to help get you started.
- Avoid matching outifts, but rather try to find outfits that compliment each other
- Avoid clothing with logos and busy patterns
- Jeans
- accessories, such as headbands, scarves, jewelry, jackets and hats can really add to your look
- cowboy boots, rain boots, converse, toms
- striped or patterned stockings/tights
- tutus, pettiskirts, petti rompers ( I do have several of these in different sizes and colors)
- Check out Old Navy, Gap, Childrens Place, Gymborees & Target outfits online to get ideas for what goes together for the current season.
- accessories, such as headbands, scarves, jewelry, jackets and hats can really add to your look
- Shoes always help make the outfit : cowboy boots, rainboots, converse, toms, vans, heals, boots
- Dress for the location
- Avoid clothing with logos and busy patterns
- Bring items that show case your personality, sports and or hobbies.

- Tube top or bikini top if the weather is warm enough

- Keep everything simple to really show case you bump.
FAQ:
What time of day do you sessions?
I shoot in the morning before the sun is too high or 2 hours before sunset. However if it is overcast out we can shoot at mid afternoon also.
Do you shoot in the rain?
No. I will not shoot in the rain and risk my gear. If the session cant be reschedule we can see if we can find a covered location
Do you shoot weddings?
No. I have photographed them in the past and found I just dont have a passion to shoot them. I can refer you to several local photographer friends if need.
Do you photograph events?
No.
Do you have a studio?
I have a small in home studio. I only photograph newborns & babies indoors. I can fit a small family during a newborn session if needed.

If you are not ordering prints from me, I highly suggest printing your photos at MPIX.com. You will get high quality professional prints. If you print somewhere else, I can not guarantee the quality of your prints.
